This month two of our instructors, Sion Oxford and Adrian Munteanu, stepped their teaching up a gear with a British Aikido Board Advance coaching course.
Known as the CL2 course, it consists of several distinct and lengthy sessions. It was a marathon, cramming it all into one month, but we hope the results will be clear to see in the class-room for many years to come. There will be a practical examination in April of next year, in which they will both be expected to teach Aikido to a group of other instructors, and completion of the course will put them amongst some of the most highly qualified aikido coaches in the country.
The course was taught by Sensei Frank Burlingham, one of the founding members of the British Aikido Board, and as well as him, it was pleasure to spend time and share experiences with instructors from other clubs.
Particular thanks goes to the Jushinkan Dojo who organised and hosted the course.
