As part of the latest round of Olympics ‘Sportivate’ programmes, Satomi Kai Aikido Club are running another 6 week introductory course for beginners.
Sportivate is a Lottery programme that gives access to six-week courses in a range of sports. The programme is aimed at those who are not currently choosing to take part in sport in their own time, or are doing so for a very limited amount of time, and will support them to continue playing sport in their community after the six weeks is up. It’s a great programme, and we are excited to be a part of it.
It’s an excellent opportunity, not only for people who are interesting in stepping into the world of Martial Arts, but also for existing Martial Artists to spread their wings and experience a different art.
It’s also wonderful timing for those people making new years resolutions to get out and get active. January is always a time for fresh starts and new endeavours, and we look forward to offering this course to everyone.
This course will cover the fundamentals of Ukemi (safe falling) – Basic Striking & Grabbing
– Posture Breaking – Unarmed Techniques – Sword, Staff & Knife
This six-week course starts 8pm on Tuesday 29th January. Please register to ensure a space via aikido@precepts.co.uk, or visit www.satomikai.co.uk/beginners
Finally, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that supported us during Movember. It was a fun thing to do, and we are pleased to say that the team raised a mighty £867.00 for a really great cause.
